Peonies, stink horn and firewood

The rain continued this week. The peas have been loving the cool weather, with lots of growth and some pods forming. The beans have also finally gotten a move on and the garlic is forming scapes.

The first planting of potatoes are also blooming. The second planting have just pushed dup through the soil so it looks like we'll have a good crop.

Had my first stink horn in the garden. Not sure where it came from. Deflated the next day. Ill be interested to see if it comes back.

I'm hopeful we'll have saskatoons too pick in the next two weeks.

I spent most of this past week finishing the splitting of the trees we had removed. I think we have enough firewood for a couple of years of backyard fires once the new garage gets built. Not much progress on that front with the rain.

The radishes we planted are going to seed.

And the peonies are coming out, which always adds a nice shot of colour to the side of the house.

This week I need to do a quick cleaning of the basement freezer to get ready for this years berry crop.
